Volunteer Peer Counselling

Cowichan Family Life has been training quality lay counsellors since 1970.  In fact, Volunteer Lay (Peer) Counselling is the cornerstone of the agency.

Individual and couples counselling is available for those needing emotional support, psycho-educational information, and counselling support for current issues.  Counsellors use a strength-based Solution Focused 8 session model and they receive ongoing training and clinical supervision by a Registered Clinical Counsellor. Community and self-referrals are welcome. We also offer practicum placements for University Master’s programs.

Call to book an Intake session

Intake sessions help determine whether Cowichan Family Life is the best resource for support in our community.  Clients are then matched with a suitable counsellor or referred to another service provider that is better able to meet their needs.

Phone (250) 748-8281 to request an intake appointment or email request.
