Volunteer Peer Counselling training
Peer Counsellor trainees receive 100 hours of class room instruction and experiential training in a strength based solution focused model of counselling to provide quality support to individuals presenting with current issues negatively impacting their lives. The Cowichan Family Life Thrift Store is a social enterprise that opened in December of 2011. The store offers volunteer opportunities and work place skills training as well as personal support for those who would benefit from the experience of helping in this work setting. Volunteer staff bring unique and personal gifts and talents to their role in the day to day operation of this retail store. Volunteers who have a varied schedule or planning for vacation are welcome to discuss options and preferences that will work best for them. Thrift Store volunteers have created this fabulous little gem and could best contribute to create the best thrift store ever!
The Thrift Store is open Tuesday to Friday 10 to 5 , Saturday 10 to 3 and offers gently used clothing, house wares, decorative items, craft supplies, books, music, and small furniture. Facebook link
We are happy to accept your donation of gently used quality items anytime during store hours. Please call ahead if you are donating furniture items or a large quantity of goods. Please do not leave donations outside the store outside of business hours.
