Cowichan Family Life
Serving individuals and families
in Cowichan since 1970
Cowichan Family Life grew out of a grassroots movement driven by concerned and caring people who believed counselling services should be available to everyone, and that people like you and I could learn the fundamental skills to provide quality counselling support.
The Cowichan-Malahat Counselling Service was incorporated as a society under the Societies Act of British Columbia on March 25, 1970 and was given its present name of Cowichan Family Life Association on April 30, 1974.
Over 50 years later, our agency continues it’s important work by providing affordable counselling services, psycho-educational workshops, and our successful volunteer counsellor training. With current grant funding, coming Fall 2023 we will be offering Child & Family counselling, Young Adult Mentorship & Counselling training, Senior Peer Counselling Training, new workshops including “Finding Financial Freedom”, and new community support groups.
Mission: We support individuals and families to strengthen relationships and reach their full potential.
Our vision is a thriving community of strong and happy individuals.
MAKING AN IMPACT IN OUR COMMUNITY
The positive impact that our counselling programs and services makes in our community work doesn’t show well in pictures. However, the stats speak volumes to it and the need for what we do.
